It's worth getting water pump done anyway for the labour saving especially if you haven't changed the coolant, you are probably due a change to save the matrix corroding. They told me cutting the auxiliary belt saves time
Hello i am curious if need to change my timing belts on my ford focus mk2 2007 which has a Duratec 1.6 Ti-VcT . I am from greece so it's a european model . I have done 120k km or 75k miles . Also can anyone tell me if my engine is an interferance engine or a non interferance engine ( free whelling ) Thanks in advance !

I would like to share my experience regarding my vct solenoid NIGHTMARE.
The engine has a timing belt (not a chain), donāt forget to replace old one every 100,000 miles. As to adjust backlash of valves, the engine hasnāt hydraulic tappets. The 1.6 TI VCT is pretty reliable and more fun to drive as opposed to straightforward 1.6 liters Duratec.
